DanceWorks Showcase Performances

Join us for Placement Day on February 23

Placement Day is a day designed to help you and your choreographers fit you into the routine that best meets your technique and dance experience.

Each style will have a 30-minute time block where you will learn a snippet of choreo from a real showcase piece. This will help you understand if you feel the piece is a good fit for you (not too difficult, not too simple) as well as allow the choreographers to see what types of dancers they will be working with in the coming weeks.

Within one week of placement day, you will receive your routine placements and then will have the opportunity to sign up for whichever showcase pieces you are interested in.

There is a $5 fee per placement day class so we can compensate our instructors for their time. You may take as many as you’d like, even if you don’t plan to sign up for all pieces you attend placement day for.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will take place March 8 – May 2 on Thursdays-Sundays. Each piece will rehearse for one hour a week for 8 weeks. You are expected to attend all rehearsals and must let your choreographer know in advance if you must miss a rehearsal for any reason. If you are unable to attend more than two rehearsals during the rehearsal period, we ask that you please refrain from participating in that particular piece for the sake of the other dancers.

Getting tickets

Spectator Tickets for all Showcase Performances go on sale 2 weeks prior to the performance date

Tickets are $25. Lap children 2 and under are free. Dancers are expected to sell a minimum of two tickets each.

The Performances

We will hold a tech/dress rehearsal on May 3. There will be two performances on May 4. The schedule for the day of performance is as follows:
