All clients agree to and have read the Entry Agreement on the doors, prior to entry into the studio building.

All clients must have completed our liability waiver before attending their first class.

All clients must have a valid payment card on file with their account to attend classes.

Late Cancel Policy

All clients have until 2 hours (120 min) prior to the start of class to cancel their class via the DanceWorks Indy app or website.

Cancellations within 120 min of the start of any class or failure to attend will result in the following:

  • A $10 late fee if they are an Unlimited Member
  • The class will still count towards a use of one class in any class pack or single class drop-in.
  • A loss of 1 class credit for those attending class using a “single class” or a “class pack”

Not feeling well? Stuck at work? Flat tire? GIVE US A CALL!

We get it – life happens! We’ll waive your fee and remove you from the class without issue.

Waitlist Logistics

What's the deal? What gives?

Waitlists happen when a class has filled all its spots for students. If you are on the waitlist, you are not in the class just yet.
However, we do have a record of you wanting to join the class. If someone drops out of the class, we automatically add the first person on the waitlist to take their spot. If you are moved from the waitlist and into the class, you will receive an email notifying you.
For text alerts, contact us and let us know if you’d like to receive these.
We’re happy to help set you up!

How late can I be added to the class?

Our system will automatically add you into the class if space becomes available for you, all the way up until 2 hours before the class starts.

How likely will I be added to the class from a waitlist?

Fairly likely! You would be surprised how often people change their plans and remove themselves from a class. While we cannot guarantee that you’ll be added to the class from the waitlist, it does happen regularly, so be sure to check your status as class time approaches!

Can I be added to the class from the waitlist after the 2 hour mark?

In short: No.
You are welcome to call the studio as the class time draws closer to see if there were any last-minute cancellations, but we cannot guarantee that there will be any spaces available. If you live close by or have a flexible schedule, you can give us a call, just to check!
If you are looking to get a last-minute spot in a 5:30 pm class, it is best to email us; Our front desk may not be staffed prior to 5:00 pm on weekdays.

Can I check my position in the waitlist?

Yes! View your waitlist position via the DanceWorks Indy app or our Website plugin and look at your reservation.
You can also contact us via email or phone if you would like assistance.
Ph. 317-602-4986
During business hours, subject to front desk staff availability.

Is "FULL" the same as Waitlisted?

Any class listed as “FULL” means that both the class itself is fully booked AND the waitlist is full. At this point, we will no longer allow dancers to be added to the waitlist.
Typically waitlists are, at maximum, half the size of the total class size. In an effort to keep realistic expectations, we don’t allow for any more waitlist students beyond this point.

Can I be removed from the waitlist?

Absolutely. Simply cancel your booking.
This can be done via the DanceWorks Indy App or in the online scheduler.

Can waitlists be avoided?

We strongly recommend you book classes as far out as you can, to avoid the possibility of being put on a waitlist. Some classes get booked up very quickly!

FAQs

We are so excited!
Please arrive 15 minutes early to the studio. We’ll give you a tour, introduce you to the instructor, and get you checked in.

We also suggest bringing a water bottle and comfortable clothing.

We suggest athletic or dance clothing with fabrics that stretch, make you feel comfortable, and allow you to move – hopefully, it makes you feel amazing and empowered, too!

We LOVE beginners!
We recommend folks with no dance experience join an Absolute Beginner class, just to get your feet under you, so to speak. We offer weekly drop-in Absolute Beginner level classes on the weekends, typically at 11am.

Use the DanceWorks Indy app for more information on class times, or check out our schedule.

We also run month-long Absolute Beginner progressive workshops in various styles for those who want a more in-depth start.

You are welcome to sign up for Beginner level, from the start, but the class could be more than you expect.

Another great option for those new to dance is to try one of our dance fitness classes, like SWERK, Cardio Hip Hop, or 305 Fitness! These are upbeat cardio dance classes that you follow along with the instructor and are great for building stamina, coordination, and just having a good time. They’re like Zumba …but designed for 2023 with your fav top 40 pop/hip hop tracks and low lighting.

Welcome back to dance!
You’ll find many folks just like yourself here who have danced before but have been on a little hiatus. Typically, you want to attend a Beginner or Beg/Int level class to “shake the dust off” before moving to higher levels.
We do recommend this path if it’s been a few years, just so that you can build back your confidence!

All of our classes are self-placement based, so you’re welcome to try any and all our classes.

We encourage you to do so!

What shoes do I need?

Shoe choice can vary depending on the style of dance. Below is a helpful guide.

For all classes, please bring in a clean, dry pair of shoes with you to change into to keep our floors looking and feeling fabulous!

Tap

We recommend tap shoes, but if you’d like to try out the class in sneakers, socks, or other dance shoes, that is totally fine.

Ballet & PBT

We recommend canvas or leather ballet shoes, but socks work in a pinch as well.

Jazz

Jazz can be done in jazz shoes or socks, although we recommend something with some grip and traction.

Contemporary & Modern

Contemporary and Modern dance classes are typically best in socks.

Heels

We recommend a pair of heels that you feel comfortable walking, standing, pivoting, and moving in. For beginners especially, we recommend something with some ankle support and/or a slightly thicker heel.

All Other Classes

We recommend athletic shoes.

Kinney Dancewear is also a great local retailer of dance shoes and apparel.

COVID-19 Safety & Masks

Masks are optional for all attendees at this time.
We reserve the right to update our COVID-19 policies at any time.

All of our staff members are fully vaccinated.

Studio COVID-19 Outbreak Protocols

During a COVID-19 outbreak and any government mandated safety measures, or any similar viral cause for concern, the follow practices are put in place

General

  • Elevated cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, equipment, floors, bathrooms, and more
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers are at the entrance to the building and in each studio.
  • Hand washing and/or sanitizing is strongly encouraged before and after each class.
  • If you’d like to opt OUT of hands-on adjustments to your dance form or posture during classes, please borrow and wear a red wristband that can be found on the side of the cubbies in each room to alert your teacher to you not being comfortable with hands-on.

During Outbreaks

  • Our staff has undergone extensive training to ensure proper understanding and execution of COVID-related procedures.
  • All staff undergo daily symptom screenings prior to entering the studio
  • We reduce class sizes to allow for more than 6 ft of distance between dancers.
  • We increase the time between classes AND stagger our class times to reduce the number of people in any area at a given time. Our weekly class schedule will reflect any changed start times.
  • We have a no-touch forehead thermometer that we reserve the right to use on any client that exhibits behavior of even a slight concern to any other clients or staff.
  • Staff may refuse admittance to anyone who is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or any illness.
  • While we are SO excited to see you all in the studio, we will be refraining from hugs, high fives, etc to keep good social distancing practices.
  • We will continue to constantly monitor current developments, and will not hesitate to implement additional measures as needed.
